ox

It is Chinese new year. Time for celebration and lion dancing! Ringing in the new year with the fierce beat of the dragon drum. the sharp, hypnotizing clangs of cymbals. it's funny how going to London on a whim has lead to so many coincidences. I just happened to walk by China town as I strolled around town. It was literally out of the corner of my eye that I saw a big crowd of people. People smiling, people laughing, dancing. Red lanterns strewn across the sky. it was at this moment that I realized that I'm celebrating new years half way across the world, home away from home.
Was it chance that I came across Chinatown like this? Was it yet chance that I ran into a friend from Paris as I walked through the streets of Chinatown in London? how does the world work so beautifully as to grant me these precious coincidences? Is life really up to the whim of chance? Life can sometimes feel so chaotic, so random, so fleeting. Yet I feel like the world is connected in some marvelous, crazy beautiful way.
It is the year of the ox, my zodiac. And it's time for this ox to discover what the future has to offer. new year, new country, new life. i have so much to be thankful for.

Happy new year from London!
